Faculty and Staff:   Barbette Robillard - Lead Teacher Lead Teacher Barbette Robillard is a Montessori-trained primary teacher (ages 3-6) with over twenty years of experience. Her two children attended Montessori primary & elementary schools before the family settled in Point Pleasant, PA. Barbette has served on the Board of Trustees since its founding in January, 2008. Her spirit & vision have sustained us from dream into reality, and her husband & sons have been dedicated supporters & volunteers. Barbette has a bachelor's degree in art therapy and AMI Primary Diploma (Association Montessori Internationale) from the Washington Montessori Institute. Barbette is an accomplished visual artist as well as a warm, nurturing, and creative classroom teacher.   Jessikah Humphrey - Assistant Teacher Alumni parent Jessikah Humphrey will rejoin us as Assistant Teacher in the school year 2011-12. Jessikah was our dance/movement specialist during the home-based days of Secret Garden and our first months in Frenchtown, and we are thrilled to welcome her back to the teaching team! Jessikah holds a bachelor's degree from Rutgers as well as New Jersey elementary teacher certification with a specialty in dance education. She serves as secretary of the Board of Trustees. Jessikah lives in Upper Black Eddy, PA with her husband and daughter. In her outside-school life Jessikah teaches & performs belly-dancing. To the classroom she brings smiles, patience, and joy in movement for its own sake, as well as the fun of acquiring new skills and practicing to share them in performance.   Norma Bowers - Assistant Teacher Assistant Teacher Norma Bowers joined our staff when Jessikah's leave commenced, but she is no stranger to Secret Garden Montessori; she was a founding member of the Board of Trustees and has been a faithful supporter of our initiative since January 2008! Norma began her teaching career in the Pennsylvania public school system and in the West Indies, where she served in the U.S. Peace Corps from 1969-71. She was a beloved and respected teacher for more than 20 years at United Friends School in Quakertown, PA, where she taught (among other things) mixed-age kindergarten and physical education . Since 2004 she has been working at a pre-school and day-care center in Ottsville PA. We are thrilled to welcome Norma as a teaching colleague and our plan is to maintain both her and Jessikah on staff when Jessikah returns from her maternity leave in the spring. Norma's 3 sons are grown and she lives with her husband in Upper Black Eddy, PA.   Jenny Isaacs - Director Our director and Clerk of our Board of Trustees is Jenny Isaacs. Jenny has been a teacher, an administrator, and an active volunteer parent at 4 independent schools. She & her husband live in Ottsville PA and are the parents of a freshman in college, a junior at boarding school, and a homeschooling 4th grader. Jenny is an alumni parent and served as co-administrator of the original collective. In her outside-school life she directs a non-profit that promotes electric vehicles.
