SUMMER PROGRAM

The summer programs at SGM offer young children a unique day camp experience where they can explore  & enjoy the summer season’s natural rhythms in a green, nurturing  & peaceful environment.

The core Montessori principles of independence, respect and responsibility for children are woven throughout the curriculum. There are many opportunities for children to engage in both self-directed activities & cooperative play.

SGM camp days are filled with nature studies, outdoor fun, cooking, creating, gardening, building, singing, dancing, playing and much more!

Each week features a variety of activities designed around a focused theme.

The programs are designed with three main branches of campers to meet the specific needs of each mixed-age group. Each branch  will often explore the themes independently  and then join together to experience the themes collectively. The branches are as follows:

Sprouts Toddler Summer Crew

Ages 18 months -2.5 years old

This program is designed for our youngest campers. A central focus for this age group is working towards independence. With the loving guidance of our professional staff members, these little ones will enjoy plenty of summer fun as the grow and learn! Their daily routine will consist of group snack time, gathering together, independent explorations, outdoor play, lunch and rest.

SGM Campers

Ages 3– 6 years old

The Campers makes up the bulk of our summer program attendees. This program provides children with a multitude of experiential learning opportunities through fun, exciting & educational activities. As with all the programs, the purposeful mixed-aged groupings allow students to learn from one another.

Secret Garden’s Young leaders

Ages 7-13 years old

This program provides children with the opportunity to take their leadership roles to the next level. The summer program staff will work one-on-one with each young leader to discover and develop talents and interests they have that can be shared with the group.  No physical care or official oversight responsibilities will be given to them. Through their experience as Young Leaders, they will discover the joy of making a meaningful contribution to a group.
